Configure PreEmptive Protection™ DashO™ Make Synthetic from two pages in the DashO user interface: Make Synthetic - Options and Make Synthetic - Exclude.
To learn how Make Synthetic works, see Make Synthetic.
Prerequisites
- A DashO project in Standard Mode. The Make Synthetic pages are only available in Standard Mode.
Choose When DashO Makes Items Synthetic
- In the navigation tree, select Make Synthetic.
- In the Make Synthetic dropdown list, select Never, Only private and package, If not public, or All. See Make Synthetic Options.
- Save your project and build it to apply the changes.
DashO stores this setting in the <make-synthetic> element of the project file.
Exclude Items from Make Synthetic
Use the Make Synthetic - Exclude page to keep classes, methods, fields, or entire packages from being marked synthetic. The page uses the DashO rules editor. For details on creating, editing, and previewing rules, see Graphical Rules Editor.
- In the navigation tree, select Make Synthetic > Exclude.
- Create rules for the items DashO must not mark as synthetic. See Graphical Rules Editor.
- Save your project and build it to apply the changes.
Limitations and Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
| The Make Synthetic pages aren't visible. | They're only available in Standard Mode. |
