Use the New Project Wizard to create a PreEmptive Protection™ DashO™ project for a Java library or desktop application. The wizard examines your application and determines appropriate protection settings.
Prerequisites
- DashO is installed and activated. For more information, see Installation and Activation.
Integrate Into a Library or Desk Application Project
To create a project for a Java library or a desktop application using the Project Wizard, do the following:
- Start DashO.
- Select File > Project Wizard.
- Select Library or Desktop App and then Next.
- Enter the location of your .jar file (or library directory) and the location of the JDK that DashO uses to resolve Java runtime classes.
- Select Next and review the dependencies the wizard finds. The wizard lists the dependencies your code needs at runtime or for obfuscation.
- Add more
.jarfiles as inputs to obfuscate or as runtime support libraries. - Add Java modules (
.jmod) to the support libraries list. - Check the Missing classes list for classes your code references that the wizard can't locate.
- Add more
-
Select at least one entry point for DashO to follow and select Next. DashO uses entry points to find unused items and removes them from the obfuscated output.
- Review the suggested annotation-based entry point rules. Enable a rule only if you're familiar with the annotation and want to preserve the code elements it decorates.
-
(Optional) Select the Generate Entry Point rules based on Hibernate annotations checkbox to set the following rules:
Applies To Rule Classes annotated with javax.persistence.EntityDashO doesn't rename or remove the class. Members of classes annotated with javax.persistence.Entityorjavax.persistence.EmbeddedDashO doesn't remove:
- Fields
- Getters (0-parameter methods with names that begin with
getoris) - Setters (1-parameter methods with names that begin with
set)
- Select Next and indicate where to save the resulting project file.
- Select Finish.
If a project file with the same name already exists, DashO asks whether you want to replace it. If you replace the existing project, DashO saves the new settings and creates a backup of the previous project.
