General
How do I know which version of Dotfuscator I am using?
You may be encountering an issue that has already been fixed. Verify that you are using the latest version of Dotfuscator.
Should Third-Party Assemblies Be Obfuscated?
If you process a package that contains third-party assemblies, we generally recommend excluding the third-party assemblies from obfuscation.
For instructions, refer to Excluding or Including Package Assemblies from Processing.
Third-party assemblies are excluded automatically when you integrate Dotfuscator into a Visual Studio project through the MSBuild Targets.
How Do I Build a Multi-Platform MAUI Project?
When building a MAUI project that targets multiple platforms, limit the number of parallel project builds to one.
Protection
Why Were So Few Items Renamed?
When an assembly uses Library Mode, Dotfuscator does not rename items that are part of its public interfaces.
You can disable Library Mode if:
- The assembly is not intended to be used as a library by other assemblies.
- You process the library and all its dependent assemblies together in the same Dotfuscator configuration.
For more information about improving protection, refer to Enhance Protection.
Why Isn’t a Configured Transform Running?
A transform may be configured on its corresponding tab but disabled in the global settings.
To verify that the transform is enabled:
- Open the Settings tab.
- Select Global Options in the left navigation pane.
- Locate the Feature section.
- Review the setting for the required transform.
